WIAF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity and providing essential support to families in need across Montreal’s West Island. Through compassion, dignity, and advocacy, we ensure that no one is left behind.

🔍 Who We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates with experience in:

  • Fundraising and Philanthropy
  • Communications and Social Media
  • Food Service or Restaurant Industry
  • Business Strategy and Leadership

💡 Ideal Candidate Profile
You are someone who:

  • Has relevant professional experience in one or more of the above fields
  • Shows deep commitment to community service
  • Upholds high standards of ethics and professionalism
  • Communicates clearly and collaborates well with others
  • Is ready to donate time and expertise beyond monthly meetings
  • Acts as an ambassador for our mission in your network

Minimum Requirements
To be considered, candidates must:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in a relevant professional field
  • Have prior involvement with a nonprofit or community initiative
  • Commit to monthly board meetings (held remotely, with strong encouragement to attend two in-person meetings per year)
  • Participate actively on at least one committee
  • Donate time beyond board meetings to support projects, events, and outreach
  • Be willing to advocate publicly for WIAF’s work and build relationships that support its growth

🤝 Your Role as a Board Member
Board members support strategic planning, governance, leadership, and community engagement. This is a hands-on board, ideal for professionals seeking meaningful ways to give back through expertise and time, not financial contributions.
