We had a blast on our family trip to Voyageur Provincial Park on Saturday!
Families and volunteers gathered at our headquarters in the morning and then we all hopped on a bus together and headed to the provincial park.
The day was spent in the sun spending time together, playing fun games, and sharing laughs, good food and group discussions in the heart of nature. The sun was shining, the beach was calling, and the picnic blankets were out!
An obstacle course was organized for the children to race each other and have fun while being active. Children played at the beach for some refreshing fun and families relaxed and soaked up the sun.
Hot dogs and chicken burgers were grilled on the BBQ by Mr. Ahmed and with the help of fellow volunteer George Gerges. Fresh veggies were served as toppings, and many of the clients brought their own meals and shared amongst them other clients in a pot luck fashion. The food was delicious, and everyone had a blast!
Families then gathered in the evening at the bus again, where they enjoyed a ride back to our headquarters.
The trip brought everyone together and helped create a sense of community all while having fun.
We couldn’t have asked for a better day!
