Attention friends and neighbours! As summer approaches, we are thrilled to announce the opening of “The Garden of Hope” – our community’s very own collective garden!
The Garden of Hope is a vibrant space where we come together to grow and nurture our own fresh fruits and vegetables, while also fostering a sense of community spirit, sustainability and shared responsibility.
We invite you all to join us in this exciting endeavor! Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out, there’s a place for you in our garden. Together, we can cultivate a bountiful harvest and create lasting connections with one another.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the collective garden is its potential to help alleviate food insecurity in our community. By growing our own fresh fruits and vegetables, we can provide access to healthy, nutritious food for those who might not otherwise have access. Surplus produce is donated towards our food bank.
We are proud to grow a diverse range of fruits and vegetables that are both delicious and nutritious. Our garden is home to a variety of seasonal crops, including but not limited to:
- Tomatoes
- Peppers
- Squash
- Cucumbers
- Eggplant
- Green beans
- Strawberries
In addition, we also have a variety of herbs and spices such as basil, rosemary, thyme, and mint.
Let’s make this summer one of growth, learning, and community. See you in the Garden of Hope! Email infojardins@fdoi.org to learn more about how you can get involved.
